How to get to Boracay: Caticlan, Kalibo and the jetty
Boracay has no airport. Fly to Caticlan, five to ten minutes from Caticlan jetty port, or to Kalibo, about an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half away by road. At the jetty you pay a terminal fee, an environmental fee and the boat fare, then cross to Cagban port on Boracay in 10 to 15 minutes. A one-way transfer with bus and boat from Island Star Express costs ₱450 from Caticlan airport and ₱600 from Kalibo.

Flight, transfer and boat to Boracay
Most arrivals have three parts: a flight, a road leg to Caticlan jetty port, and the boat to Cagban port on Boracay.
Without a flight. Two overnight trips reach Caticlan jetty port. From Batangas Port, Starlite Ferries sailed at 19:30 and 2GO at 21:00 for 7 October 2026, due at 05:30 and 08:00, from ₱2,477, and Lite Shipping put MV Lite Ferry Twenty on the route in August 2026, twelve hours and from ₱2,277 for a bunk on its own booking system. From Robinsons Antipolo, east of Manila, RRCG Transport's bus leaves at 08:30 and reaches the jetty at 05:30 the next day, crossing by ferry on the way. You step off at the same jetty as everyone else, so the fees and the short boat to Cagban still apply.
Shared transfers. Island Star Express sells the road and the boat as one ticket. Bought in its online shop, an adult ticket in 2026 is ₱450 one way or ₱800 return from Caticlan airport, and ₱600 one way or ₱1,100 return from Kalibo airport, with children cheaper. Its own rates page lists higher prices for the same trips, ₱537.50 one way from Caticlan and ₱632.50 from Kalibo, so buy in the shop rather than paying the listed rate. The tickets are open-dated to 31 December 2026. A fuel surcharge of ₱35 to ₱50 a person each way has applied since 20 March 2026.
Private transfers. The same company lists a fully chartered transfer at ₱6,500 from Caticlan and ₱9,000 from Kalibo, one way.
The fees at the jetty. Island Star Express also sells the jetty fees in advance: ₱485 one way on arrival for a foreign visitor and ₱335 for a Filipino visitor, and ₱185 on the way out. Or pay them online through Boracay iPass, or at the port gate. The detail is in the crossing section below.
Caticlan vs Kalibo airport for Boracay
Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (Caticlan) (MPH)
Caticlan airport is the near one: the Province of Aklan's Boracay iPass guide gives five to ten minutes by tricycle or air-conditioned shuttle to Caticlan jetty port. Nonstop flights come from Manila (Philippine Airlines, AirAsia and Cebu Pacific), Clark (Sunlight Air and Philippine Airlines) and Cebu (Cebu Pacific, Cebgo and Philippine Airlines, around fifteen a week in September 2026).
Kalibo International Airport (KLO)
Kalibo is the far one, an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half from Caticlan jetty port by road, depending on traffic. In September 2026 its nonstop flights went to Manila (AirAsia and Cebu Pacific) and to Seoul Incheon (Tway Air), with a seasonal route to Hefei in China listed from October to March.
Island Star Express sells Kalibo airport to Boracay, bus and boat, for ₱600 one way or ₱1,100 return for an adult in 2026, with a fuel surcharge of ₱35 to ₱50 a person each way since 20 March 2026.
Leaving Boracay: boat, terminal fee and airport
The order reverses: hotel to Cagban port, the terminal fee at Cagban, the boat to Caticlan, then the road to the airport. From Cagban, the hop-on, hop-off bus and air-conditioned shuttles run between the port and the hotels.
From Kalibo, the road leg alone is an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half, before check-in. Work back from the flight time, not forward from breakfast.
Caticlan to Boracay boat, terminal fee and environmental fee
From Caticlan airport take a tricycle or shuttle to Caticlan Seaport, five to ten minutes. At the port gate you pay a terminal fee, an environmental fee and the boat fare, or show a Boracay iPass QR code if you paid online. The public ferry to Cagban port on Boracay takes 10 to 15 minutes, a speedboat 3 to 5.

From the airports to the jetty. The Province of Aklan's own guide gives five to ten minutes from Caticlan airport to Caticlan Seaport by public tricycle or air-conditioned shuttle, and an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and a half from Kalibo International Airport, depending on traffic. Outside the airport terminal, the same guide points to a Boracay iPass land transport booth for the ride. Island Star Express also sells the whole run from Caticlan airport to Cagban as one ticket, bus and boat together, for ₱450 one way, timetabled at 35 minutes.
At the gate. You pay three things before boarding: the port terminal fee, collected for the Provincial Government of Aklan; the environmental fee, for the Municipality of Malay; and the boat fare. Visitor guides updated in 2026 agree on the amounts, and Island Star Express's prepaid fee packages, ₱485 on arrival for a foreign visitor and ₱335 for a Filipino visitor, match them plus a small charge:
Boracay iPass, at boracayipass.ph, takes all three online and gives one QR code that is scanned at the terminal on the way in and on the way out. Children aged five and under do not need a terminal pass if proof of age is uploaded.
On the island. Cagban port has a Boracay iPass land transport booth in its lobby. From there a hop-on, hop-off bus or an air-conditioned shuttle takes you to your hotel or its nearest stop, in five to ten minutes.
In the southwest monsoon. When the Habagat makes the western sea rough, usually between June and October, the boats move to Tabon port on the mainland and Tambisaan port on Boracay's eastern side, and the terminal fee there is split ₱100 on arrival and ₱50 on departure. Port staff and transfer companies direct passengers to whichever pair of ports is in use.
Cebu to Boracay flights to Caticlan
Fly from Mactan-Cebu to Caticlan, about an hour, then cross to Boracay from Caticlan Seaport. Cebu Pacific, its regional arm Cebgo, and Philippine Airlines fly the route, around fifteen flights a week in September 2026, between about 06:20 and 18:50.

With about two flights a day, Cebu to Caticlan is a route to book ahead rather than one to turn up for. For 7 October 2026, Philippine Airlines PR2359 was on sale at 10:40, landing at Caticlan at 11:35.
No ferry runs between Cebu and Boracay, and the booking sites only sell the flight or connections through other airports. The flight lands a few minutes by tricycle from Caticlan Seaport, so a morning departure from Cebu puts you on the island by early afternoon.
On the way back the order reverses: the boat from Cagban, the terminal fee at Cagban, the tricycle to Caticlan airport, then the flight. The Philippine Airlines flight back, PR2360, was on sale for 7 October 2026 at 12:15 from Caticlan, landing in Cebu at 13:15.
