## Cebu City to Bantayan Island

Take a Ceres bus from Cebu's North Bus Terminal to Hagnaya port, ₱300, then a ferry to Santa Fe on Bantayan, about an hour and a half across. Super Shuttle Ferry sails about every two hours from 02:00 to 16:30 for ₱392, and Island Shipping runs the same crossing for ₱380. Aznar's MV Melrivic crosses from Medellin in 45 minutes.

### North Bus Terminal, then Hagnaya or Medellin

Ceres buses for the north of the island leave the **North Bus Terminal**, inside the SM City Cebu compound in Mabolo. Take a bus signed for Hagnaya or Bantayan and buy the ferry ticket at the port. 2026 guides put the ride to Hagnaya at about three to four hours.

**Hagnaya port** in San Remigio is the usual crossing. **Medellin port**, at Kawit further north, is where Aznar's faster boat leaves. Check which port your ferry ticket is for before you get off the bus.

### Santa Fe port on Bantayan

Every ferry comes into **Santa Fe port** on the south-east of Bantayan Island. Santa Fe town and its beaches are a short tricycle ride away; Bantayan town and Madridejos are further along the island's road.

### Which port, and when to leave Cebu City

Leave Cebu City in the morning. The last Super Shuttle sailing from Hagnaya on sale for November 2026 was the 16:30, and the bus can take four hours in traffic.

On a Friday or before a holiday, buy the ferry ticket ahead or arrive early: the boats carry cars and trucks as well as foot passengers.

## Bantayan Island to Cebu City

Take a ferry from Santa Fe port to Hagnaya, about an hour and a half, then a Ceres bus to Cebu's North Bus Terminal. Super Shuttle Ferry leaves Santa Fe from 04:00 to 18:00, and Aznar's MV Melrivic sails to Medellin at 01:30, 08:30 and 12:30, 45 minutes.

### Leaving from Santa Fe port

Ferries back to Cebu all leave from **Santa Fe port**. Take a tricycle there from your hotel and leave time to buy the ticket at the counter.

### From the port back to Cebu City

From Hagnaya, take a Ceres bus back to the North Bus Terminal in Cebu City; at Medellin, ask at the port for the next bus south. From the North Bus Terminal, taxis and Grab go on to the hotels, the piers for Bohol and the airport.

### Bantayan to Mactan airport for a flight

For a flight from Mactan the same day, take a morning ferry: the boat, the bus and the drive across to Mactan add up to most of a day. A private car from the port to the airport is the choice that does not depend on the bus.

## Hagnaya Port and the high tide

Hagnaya port's berth sank in the earthquake of 30 September 2025, and the sea comes over parts of the port at high tide. The Cebu Port Authority says the port is safe to use, but since March 2026 it has agreed with the shipping lines to suspend operations at high tide while geological studies decide how to repair it. The Santa Fe Tourism Office's advice is to check the tide before you set out and to confirm your sailing with the shipping line.

## Bus to the port, then the ferry to Santa Fe

Bantayan Island lies off the northern tip of Cebu. There is no bridge and, for now, no flight on sale, so the trip is a bus to a port and a ferry across.

**Ceres bus and ferry** is how most people go: about three to four hours on the bus to Hagnaya, then an hour and a half on the ferry. Ceres charges ₱300 from Cebu City to Hagnaya on the fares it posted for 29 September 2026, and sells tickets through to Santa Fe, Bantayan town and Madridejos.

**A private car to the port** saves the bus but not the crossing. Cars to Hagnaya were sold online from about ₱5,200 for the vehicle for November 2026, about three and a half hours from the city or the airport.

## Cebu airport to Bantayan, Negros and Malapascua

**From Mactan-Cebu airport.** No bus runs from the airport to the port. Take MyBus to SM City Cebu, where the North Bus Terminal is, then the Ceres bus; or book a car straight to Hagnaya.

**From Negros.** Bethlehem Shipping sails from Escalante to Santa Fe, posted at 09:00 and arriving at 11:30, and back at 12:00, ₱800 on the Santa Fe guide.

**On to Malapascua.** The only Bantayan to Malapascua boats sold online for November 2026 were private hires for the whole boat.
